Paul Heath is a highly sought-after Production Designer, working across feature film, television and
high-end commercials.

Paul started his career in art direction and set design, working on television shows and feature films,
such as Head On (dir. Ana Kokkinos, Great Scott Productions/ AFF, 1997), Soft Fruit (dir. Christina
Andreef, Soft Fruit/ Twentieth Century Fox, 1998), and the sci-fi thriller The Red Planet: Mars (dir.
Antony Hoffman, Warner Bros, 2000).

In 2004, Paul was the Production Designer on the feature film, Love’s Brother, directed by Jan Sardi
and produced by Jane Scott, for which Paul won the Australian Inside Film Award for Best Production
Design, and earned him a nomination for Best Production Design at the 2004 Australian Film
Institute awards.

Paul went on to design an impressive array of feature films, spanning various genres and budget
scopes. Some of the features which illustrate Paul’s versatility include Ali’s Wedding, directed by
Jeffrey Walker for Matchbox Pictures (2017); South Solitary, starring Miranda Otto and directed by
Shirley Barrett for Macgowan Film and Omnilab Media (Icon Film, 2010); and The Book of Revelation
(Film Finance, Wildheart Zizan, 2006), based on the best-selling novel by Rupert Thomson. The
feature reunited him with frequent collaborator, director Ana Kokkinos.

Paul has also worked extensively across television production, garnering an eclectic body of work,
which includes: the period documentary drama Australia On Trial (December Films, Essential Media
& Entertainment/ ABC, 2012), all episodes of Better Man (Bravado Productions, Fremantle Media/
Madman Entertainment, 2013), season 5 of the hugely popular Offspring (Southern Star/ Network
Ten, 2014), Party Tricks (Southern Star/ Network Ten, 2014), and seasons 1 and 2 of The Wrong Girl
(Playmaker Media/ Network Ten, 2016 – 2017).

Paul’s architectural training and theatre background have resulted in a bespoke skillset, with the
intersection of character-based design and storytelling culminating in unique and compelling
sets. Most recently, Paul was the Production Designer on all ten episodes of the Netflix and Peacock
NCU co-production, Irreverent, directed by Lucy Gaffy and Jonathan Teplitzky, for Matchbox (2022).
